Welcome to the CSA Growing Season 2025

hvf-csa-2020

Established in 1996, we are the oldest CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) group in the Bronx. Join now to get your weekly share of the 2025 growing season. Enjoy produce from Hawthorne Valley Farm, an organic and biodynamic farm located in Columbia County, NY. Full and partial vegetable shares are available, along with add-on share options such as weekly fruit, eggs, yogurt, bread, and many more.

The cost for a full share is $858.50; a partial share is $540.50. There is an option to pay in installments. Shares may also be split (see FAQ). An additional $35 membership fee helps cover Riverdale’s site-specific costs (scroll down to the bottom of the page when you sign up to pay the fee), and there is a work shift requirement at the pickup site.

We accept SNAP/EBT. Please contact Hawthorne Valley Farm at farmadmin@hawthornevalleyfarm.org to explore alternative options if the cost of the CSA is a barrier.

The Winter Season Continues

Winter Season Pick-up Times:
Monthly Saturdays, 11:00am-12:30pm. Upcoming pick up dates are November 22 and December 20. Please bring your own bags to pick up your food.

Each month you can order from the Pleasant Valley Farm store. The store has a large selection of all types of food, including their own farm-grown organic vegetables, and from their farm partners, meat, poultry, eggs, cheese and dairy products, baked goods, prepared foods, honey, maple syrup, spices, condiments, and more. If you want to browse the store to get an idea what is available, go to https://pleasantvalleyfarm.localline.ca/csa.

Food is purchased through month by month pre-orders. The Farm Store order page will open the week of a delivery on Sunday and close on Wednesday at 11pm.  You will need to set up an account the first time you pre-order from the PVF Farm Store. Pleasant Valley Farm accepts SNAP/EBT. Email farm.pvf@gmail.com if you wish to use EBT to pay for your food.

Transportation Charge
This season, we are relying on a PVF driver to deliver orders, and members will cover the cost of his travel. You will notice that when you make a preorder, there will be an automatic $8 trucking fee added to your order.

Pickup Logistics
You will pick up your food along the fence leading to the pool to the left of the Riverdale Neighborhood House main building at 5521 Mosholu Avenue.

We do not have a way to store food beyond the delivery hours. You will receive a phone number to contact the site coordinator in case you are running late, but please be aware that your food will be left unattended after the site workers leave, and the CSA will not be responsible for food that is not picked up during the scheduled hours. Orders that are not picked up will be donated to the Riverdale Neighborhood House Friendly Fridge.

Work Shifts
We need members to help set up and assist during pick up throughout the season. The work shifts are no longer than one hour. You can sign up for a workshift here
