Welcome to the CSA Winter Season 2022-23

The Riverdale Winter CSA is celebrating its 12th season. Specific information about each share option is explained below.

 

Food can be picked up during delivery hours in front of the Riverdale Neighborhood House at 5521 Mosholu Avenue.

You can choose one or more share options. You will register for shares by completing an application using the farm links listed below. 

Windflower Farm (Farmer: Ted Blomgren)
Three Delivery Dates: Nov. 19, Dec 10, Jan 7; Pick up between 10:15-11:45 AM

Fresh Food Share: Windflower Farm will provide 3 months of organically grown fresh greenhouse greens and a variety of stored vegetables plus locally produced apples and cider from November through January. You can also purchase egg, maple and grain shares. Information can be found on the link below.

2022-2023 Share Cost: $174

Lewis Waite Farm Cooperative (Farmer: Nancy and Allen Brown)
Delivery Dates: Nov. 19, Dec. 10, Jan. 7 – Pick up 10:15-11:45 AM;
Feb. 9, March 9, May 15 – Pick up 3:15-4:45 PM
Workshifts 3-4 and 4-5

Lewis Waite Farm provides the opportunity to preorder all types of meat and poultry, baked goods, dried legumes, spices, honey, eggs, dairy products, and other items. Specific products and farm information can be viewed on the website: http://csalewiswaitefarm.com/  

Cost: Members pre-order and pay shortly before they receive their products. There is a $4 fee for each delivery.  [EBT approval is pending.]

LWF also offers an option for you to order from them on your own and have products shipped directly from the farm for $15, free delivery over $300, which you can do without going through the CSA.

ADDITIONAL MEMBERSHIP INFORMATION:

  1. For November through May deliveries, you must be able to pick up your share or make arrangements for your shares to be picked up for you during the listed pick-up times. The CSA is not responsible for food that is not picked up during these hours, and we are unable to donate the food if it is not picked up.
  2. Everyone who joins the Winter CSA except for Riverdale Core Committee members must complete one one-hour work shift during the season.
